Vietnam and Cambodia

Over the October break, a couple months ago, I went to Vietnam and Cambodia. It was really fun! I liked it a lot. I also carried a 35 pound backpack, which is pretty heavy. First, we went to a city named Ho Chi Minh city. It was really crowded there, so I did not like it very much. The only place that I like in Ho Chi Minh was the underground caves, and Vietnam was stuff. We went to see where the Vietnam war took place. There were many booby traps, and it was raining, so I got wet. It became more interesting when we went underground in a small space that was used by the solders in the war. We went eleven feet underground. Me and my brother were really scared that it would collapse on us, but we still made it, even with our fear. A few days later, we took a boat across the Mekong Delta to cross over to Cambodia. The boat ride was fun, but we got stuck in rain, so we got soaked like crazy! When the boat ride stopped, we reached the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. It was big, and had a lot of sites to see, but the only problem is, that it was really hot. So, we got all sweaty! One of the sites we saw there was the Notre Dame.

We then took a bus to a city called Siem Reap. This was the best city I had seen through out the trip. It was great because of the temple complexes, called Angkor Wat. The city was so small, yet green. The area was huge! When I sat on top of a temple, all I could see for miles was green! The temples were 250-400 feet tall! It was so beautiful, especially when you saw the temples in the sunrise. Soon, we took an airplane from Siem Reap to Ha Noi, Vietnam. We then took a tour for two days. My brother hurt the backside of his foot while biking on the tour. My dad put my brother on the backside of the bike, and while my dad was biking, my brother put his foot into the bicycle, and crack! His foot got twisted, and the back of his foot was really hurt. For the rest of the trip, we carried him. When we got to our hotel, we fell asleep right away.

We took another tour to Halong Bay. Halong bay is a chain of islands. We explored the bay on a boat. We spent the day on the boat, then slept at a two and a half star hotel. The island was very green. The fallowing night, we slept on the boat. After that, we came back to a mini harbor. All in all, this is my experience in Vietnam and Cambodia.
